The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to be the leading international body for the assessment of climate change.  IPCC reports represent broad scientific consensus on the science of climate change and form the basis for many predictions of climate change effects.
